
In Native Spirit and The Sun Dance Way, Janine Pease, of the Crow and Hidasta tribes, offers insights into the history of the Native People and their perseverance in the face of tremendous adversity.
Dr. Janine Pease is the founding president of the Little Big Horn College in Crow Agency, Montana, a past president of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium, a director of the American Indian College Fund, and a member of the National Advisory Council on Indian Education.
She is Vice-President for American Indian Affairs at Rocky Mountain College.
Dr. Pease has won several prestigious awards: National Indian Educator of the Year, The MacArthur Fellowship “Genius Award” and the ACLU Jeanette Rankin Award.
She has also been named one of the 14 most important American Indians leaders of the 20th century in New Warriors.
